Lower Linguals vs Ceramics - Help!

Well i couldnt decide either for my bottom so i went for the 6 front ones linguals and the back teeth ceramics becos u cant really see them

aye guys.. just a question with the ceramics, how do they actually work??? I haven't seen much but from what i remember its just a wire across the teeth, is there anything attached on the back???? Any brackets on the teeth?????

Ceramic brackets work the same as linguals, only they're attached to the front of the teeth. There's nothing behind mine.

I'm very interested to hear how your combination linguals/ceramics on your lower arch works out, how many wires you get and how they work. Keep us posted.

Yeah i will. So with ceramics, that's the one wire across your teeth correct? So where are the brackets then?

The brackets are glued to the front of your teeth and the wire fits into the groove of those brackets. It's secured with ligatures (plastic modules). The principle is exactly the same as linguals, except that the brackets are on the front as opposed to the back of the teeth.

Actually, I only have 8 ceramics on the most visible teeth; I have metal on the rest. I have to make a really big smile for the metal to be visible.

Now im confused! What do ceramic braces look like??? Do you have a picture of an example? Just any ceramic braces picture doesn't have to be ur own....
I might make a last minute phonecall to the ortho to tell him i want linguals on all my teeth lol Can they do that though lol Can i change my mind like that lol

Ahhhhh, now i know what ceramics are.. i had a good look at the ortho's office... I changed my mind im getting full linguals on bottom..

BTW, my ortho is moving one floor up soon so will be directly below yours come 2007.

I learned yesterday that I may be finished in 6 months. I'm saying this in small print because I don't want to get too excited.

When are you getting your bottoms on? (sounds a bit odd saying it like that, doesn't it?)

The front 6 of my bottoms are already on...
And my whole top...
