So i had the bottom brace put in last Thursday. The pain has subsided now but i still have a lisp and slurring of the speech. The bottom one seemed to affect my speech just as much as the top one.

How long did it take others' to get over the speech problem?

I'm determined to speak normally again!

No experience with bottom - sorry, although I read somewhere that speach is mainly adapted within a week. I think speach is massively more noticable for us than it is for others. I spoke to my Mum and my manager at work they day I had the top ones fitted and neither even remembered to ask me how it went! In fact my manager asked me when I was getting dental work done, a month after the event!

Also re earlier question with models, in the final stages they can may tweak things a bit. I'm in the final 6-9mths (hopefully) and they have shaped teeth slightly and this has made all the difference. This wasn't included in the orginal models. My ortho tells me they can make small adjustments in relationships between individual teeth with the final wire. It allows the ortho to bend it to accomplish this, rather than relying only on the Incognito computerised imaging and models.

Good Luck

Got a question for you guys -

My ortho said that i could possibly have treatment to widen my arches/smile. He said it was likely that we would do that towards the end of the treatment.

I asked him for this- as i think my smile is slightly narrow. The lab will make the wires required for widening.

Has anyone else has incognito/ibraces widening? What sort of treatment/device would it be?

Just posting these pictures for my own reference so i can monitor progress. It's only been a few weeks since they've been put on, so not much change i expect:

Really?

I can't notice it myself. Perhaps it's because i see them everyday.

I can certainly feel them though!

Still quite interested to hear peoples thoughts on widening of the arch, and how its done with lingual braces.

My ortho said he hasn't ruled it out, and we'll monitor the progress.

I was looking at my teeth today, and have noticed my midline has shifted way off from the center now! Lol. I guess this is all part of the process... When i look at my teeth here compared to my original photo's, they've definitely moved. Has anyone experienced them being moved to weird positions before they go to their correct positions?
