My tongue hurts sometimes....?

#1 Post by Victoria »

Hi!
I have had my lingual uppers for about 3 1/2 months and it has been really easy. A little sluring and my tongue has had some pain... but but...

My question is;
Sometimes my tongue hurts from the archwire/brackets. I sometimes have to use some wax, but not alot. Sometimes the wire does not hurt my tongue, but sometimes it does - is this because my teeth are moving and my tongue is touching different places or what? It also makes talking painfull...

Other than that I am really pleased and happy with the changes and treatment!

Thank you on beforehand!!

Hi Victoria, it sounds like you're going great guns.

I think what you describe is a case of things moving around and your tongue making new contact with the brackets/wire. It's happened to me a few times. Step up the warm salt water rinses and this will help.

Thank you lionfish :D

Hi BlahBlah,
No, I am having ceramic bottoms, and they will not be put on before the middle/end of treatment, so about another year for that I think.... :?
