Jumping on the bandwagon!

I went for my first consultation yesterday afternoon, and the orthodontist quoted me $7661 for iBraces (upper and lower, estimated 18 month treatment). I have two more consultations scheduled with other orthodontists, one of which is a 30-60 min. (depending on traffic) drive away and the other, I am not quite sure what brand of linguals he works with.
I feel like this price is as low as I'll be able to get, and wondering how you guys feel. Should I cancel my other appointments and just start with this ortho as soon as possible? She said that she could get me in as soon as next week for my impressions. My last consultation would be in two weeks...I'm just getting really antsy and I want to get these on as soon as possible! But I'm just stuck on the price...

i am getting mine in about 5 weeks and for what i now know are the STB i have been quoted $7,00-$9,000 but definately not over that.. and he also told me if i wanted the ibraces from America they would be around $12,000.
its a massive difference. i think your quote sounds good. but i would still keep the other appointments just so you are sure. you might regret cancelling later on if your ortho starts saying stuff that you are not sure about. you might wonder if there was a better option with someone else...

I'm in Aussie and my ortho said any linguals were 12k and 10k for only upper linguals and normal lowers. He put an option though if the linguals were ibraces then he could get them from America and because of the trade difference they would be 11k so one grand cheaper than normal. So I went with that. With the tax rebate on all medicals that should go down to around 8 and a half thousand. I'm happy with ibraces they are really thin and I think that is the real difference compared to the old traditional linguals. The part that is bonded on feels like it's part of the tooth, so you don't even notice that's how thin it is. The only part sticking out is the brackets which are tiny anyway. I think STB linguals are better than the old linguals as they are improved though i think they would still be a little thicker and stick out a bit more.

I just got back from my consultation for the ibraces. I am getting them on may26. cant wait. neways im paying 8900 altogether. they took some very precise impressions and are sending them to texas . I was just wondering how long it will take to put them on. My ortho said i will be there for about 2 to 3 hours. I hope i dont have to sit there with my mouth open for that long. but if i do it will be worth it.

Depending on how experienced your ortho is and his general speed and skill on the day. Your ortho may also do it in sessions so upper in one session and lowers in the other. It will take over one hour so you really have to be patient invulnerable. I really hated one of the liquids used before bonding on the brackets. It was really sour and unpleasant. Just think they only have to put them on once and that is it. Never again.
