Hello fellow Aw's

I have been wearing linguals for a month now, and lower ceramics. I have noticed a change in my lowers already- its only a very slight movement but its there.
However I have noticed no change in my upper linguals- do linguals take longer to move....?
Does anybody have phots or experience thant could put my mind at ease?

Sara

I wouldn't get too concerned about this, there are probably several reasons why your uppers appear to be moving at a different pace to your lowers. I doubt that the linguals would be a factor, but discuss with your ortho at your next appointment if you want more information. Sorry, I don't have pics.

Hi Sara

I have the same combination as you, as Lionfish said there could be several reasons for this. I didn't think my uppers had moved much compared to my lowers, but when I went back to to my ortho and looked at the record pictures they certainly had moved a lot. I think there were two reasons why my lowers looked like they were moving faster, firstly they were a lot more out of line, so change was much more noticeable. Secondly as my lowers had braces on the outside, I could see the archwired going from all over the place to much straighter. Sorry no pics, my uppers are now straight after three months (but waiting for an adult canine tooth to grow in). Lowers are getting there, but taking a little longer.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for all your support-

Meryaten- thanks for your support, I am quite good with a camera so I will be taking pictures regularly and posting them on my story.

Rolo- thanks, congrats on your upppers being straight. Hope that cranine catches up......!
Its good to actually hear that linguals do actually move teeth- sounds silly but I was wondering if linguals do actually do work at all!

Lionfish- thanks for your support- I will mention it to my ortho at my next appointment on Wednesday.

Hello everyone
it has been one month and 2 days since I got my upper lings. Started noticing small changes in a few days. Well, I had my first adjustment on tuesday and boy, within one day my two front teeth have moved. I thought I could watch them moving while sitting in front of the mirror. One tooth sticks out more than the other. I feel like Nanny McPhee. I have read every post on how the things sometimes get worse before they get better. So hope is still there and I am waiting for my other tooth to catch up. My ortho told me there is nothing to worry about. The only thing is my lisp got slightly worse, probably because of my two front teeth shifting a bit.

I have upper and lower linguals and although I haven't noticed much movement in my lowers, my top teeth have really moved especially my central incisors.

i have lingual uppers and normal lowers and its nearly my 3rd tightening, they have moved so fast, top and bottom that my ortho is considering giving them a rest.... they are talking about reducing my sentence by 6 months already!! when i was originally given a 2-3 year timeframe because they are so bad..
i think after my next 2 they should look fairly straight even...
hand in there you will be ok.......
