Hey there-that seems a little expensive--is that for the ibraces on top and bottom? I was told mine was between 14-18 months and it cost $8500. My insurance paid $2000 so I have the $6500 to pay. Hope this helps!

I have only my bottom ibraces on right now (just 2 weeks today), and am getting the top ones on in a few weeks...and I never thought it would get better, but I am so used to them now--the only real problem I had was my tongue got cut up, etc--but that also goes away, etc---GOOD LUCK..and just so you know-once you go for the molds etc--it is a good 5-7 weeks before they come in, so take that into consideration when planning on when you are going to get them on.

my orthodontist quoted me $10500 for upper and lower linguals and $7500 for invisalign. insurance will pay $2500 so i'm leaning to the linguals.

he wants to put them on the bottom a few weeks before the tops. he said i won"t have any speech problems from just the bottoms. did you have speech problems with just the bottoms?

Hi bklyn--At first, the 2nd-6th day I had a little speech problem, but it was due to sores on my tongue, once I put anbesol on that, it was fine, so to answer your question, I don't think the ibraces caused it. No one really noticed it--just me... 8) I am totally fine now, and am SO worried about the top getting put on!! I am actually going to delay it a week or so because I have a big meeting the last week of Aug where I will be doing a lot of talking so...I would let your mouth get used to the bottoms for 3 weeks and then get the tops on. And if you get discouraged, send me a note, and I will help you-it is nice to know we aren't in this alone! HOpe this helps!

My iBraces are $7200 for top and bottom for 24-30 months of treatment. The cost of living where I am is significantly lower than where you are, so this may account for some of the difference.

I've been quoted "about" £4000, which I assume means up to £4500 or so just for the Uppers...

So like $8500 just for the uppers :(

i was quoted 12k for normal linguals and 11k for ibraces which are better, they were cheaper because of the american exchange rate. Also top linguals and lower normals were 10k so i thought for $1000 extra i might as well. I live in Australia, treatment time around 24 months. I think your price is reasonable for NYC. Also i get a tax rebait of 20% for all medical costs which includes orthodontic each year so that takes it down to a total payment in the end of about 8k

I got quoted £6000 GBP which is approx 12000 USD for top & bottom Incognito Linguals. Although I am in London I have read a couple of people on the forum mention getting it done cheaper. The cost is truly staggering

BTW treatment time given is 14-18months

I paid $9500 for upper linguals and another $3000 for lower ceramics. I'm in Washington, DC. I was able to find slightly lower prices but my orthodontist is very highly regarded.

Mine cost a littled over 12 grand, but insurance is covering $1,500. So it is about $10,500 for both upper and lower Ibraces. I live in Baltimore and the treatment plan is for 20 months. Seems so expensive though, I had to take out a heath loan :x

My orthodontist is in NYC too and mine costs $11,000. I had 3 other consultations with other orthos and they ranged from $9,500 - 11,000. My treatment is for 2.5 years and I'm almost 2 years through, although my orthodontist is saying it may go on for longer (without any extra charges).

As for talking properly, I have to say that it took me a good 3 months to speak where I didn't feel as uncomfortable. Also, when I'm feeling tired or just had an adjustment, I speak with a lisp then too for a bit.

Even still, no regrets whatsoever!
