Getting extractions-nervous!/Wire on top-speech issues?

Hi-I have ibraces on the bottom (since August) and just got the top ibraces Dec. 30th-just the brackets-I am having the 3rd from the front tooth on both sides extracted on Monday and then the wire and fake teeth put in on Thursday by the ortho. I am so nervous--how does the fake tooth stay in? And my speech as been fine since I adjusted to the brackets on top, but getting the wire put in-is that going to set me back? Any help anyone can give me from their experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't think the speach would be that much different.

The fake teeth, I have them now, they are stuck onto the tooth next to the gap - usually the tooth behind the gap. They look surprisingly good, and mine have lasted well for 9 mths, but they aren't strong enough to eat on.

Hi there - just wondered if you'd had this done yet and what your experiences were? I have a similar op scheduled in just over a week - will also be getting pontics and my upper wire shortly afterwards. I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about it, particularly how easy it's going to be to clean my teeth just afterwards - it's already hard enough! I'm also starting to wonder how the upper wire will affect my speech, so it would be great to hear how you are faring.

Hi there-I had to reschedule my extractions due to the oral surgeon not being available, but I am going this Monday, Feb. 23rd and then getting the upper wire and fake teeth fillers on the 26th-I will let you know how I do..I am nervous, but can't wait to get it over with!
