I have bottom and top ibraces. I got two extractions two weeks ago on top and the wire put in finally on top. Well...my question is this-one of my front teeth is moving faster then the other, so now it looks like one is shorter then the other I thought that the teeth would move in a way that while it was happening, they would start to look BETTER, not worse Is this normal?? It is flipping me out and was wondering if anyone else could share their experience with me.
Thanks
Hi there - well, sounds like your teeth are moving a bit quicker than mine! My upper teeth are certainly moving a bit - they are slightly less crowded than they were two weeks ago, but nothing drastic.....yet! However, when my orthodontist went through all my options with me in terms of which braces I should get, one of the things he warned me about with the linguals was that your teeth will move into some weird positions and because you don't have the braces on the front, it doesn't disguise those changes at all. It's not that your teeth are moving any differently than they would if they were in regular braces, it's just that there doesn't seem to be any reason to someone looking at you for the movement because the braces aren't visible. I'm expecting to see some weird things happen to my teeth before they start looking straighter - can't say I'm looking forward to it, but it's all part of the process. Hang on in there!
