Teeth Filing?

I am scheduled to get my linguals off in June. Overall I am pretty pleased with the results, though partially disappointed.

First, I was told that I would have them on for 5 months. I got them put on in June of 08. It's been almost a year now and while my teeth look great; it is frustrating because I chose the linguals because of how quick my ortho said it would go. I paid over $7k already. It would have only been $3,500 for traditionally braces, but he got me when he said how quick they would work.

Also, when I go to get them taken off, I wanted to see if I could get my teeth filed and whitened. Do ortho's usually file down teeth? My teeth are pretty much all the same size, but I'm a total perfectionist and kind of would like them a bit more even.

I don't see my ortho again until the end of May, so any help from those who have experience is appreciated!!

My ortho said he would do Inter Proximal Reduction sometime during the treatment, but it hasn't happened yet...

Hi, I had my my top cannies filed - just to stop them looking so pointed.
My filing was included in the package so did not have to pay extra.
It was not painful at all- just felt vibrations from the tool they used- a stange feeling!

I plan to have my bottom crannies filed too but need to wait for them to be repositioned then she can see how much to take off the top.

Worth doing.......

Do they look different after they were filed?

I had my second to last appointment last night. My ortho said he would be "smoothing" my teeth next month - and *hopefully* taking them off then, too!!!

He hates the word filing, ha. Anyway, I hate the day right after adjustments. 6 exedrin's in and my teeth are STILL killing me!!
