WOW I cant believe Its been 10 days already ! Only another 355 days to go ! Haha! After initially starting off quite hard, Im now used to my linguals!! Although I was at the ortho TWICE last week for problems with the wiring, all is good and im back on normal foods. Speech is still a bit off par, and the only reason people notice Ive got the braces, but were getting there ! The last few days however, Ive had a pain between my two front teeth ( I have a gap) and am wondering if this is related to the gap or if anyone else has had a similar question. Also, when I went to my ortho he said that 6 weeks is way too long between adjusments and that I should be there in three weeks. IS this normal??? Best of luck to all !!!!!!

I had the same problem with my top 2 teeth in the middle. The pain from those 2 teeth was the worst and i could not floss. But it has been 12 days since i got them on and now there is no pain and i can floss everywhere with no pain.

My dentists wants to make adjustments 2 months after the first appointment. I dont feel any pressure on my teeth now and i am wondering if i should call them and ask them for an earlier appointment to tighten my wires. Has anyone heard of power wiring? The dentist's assistant was asking the dentist whether he wanted to power wire my teeth and he said not now. Wonder what that means?

Depends on the ortho I suppose but I had my reviews every 6 weeks without problems... although I was frequently returning (at least once a month at the start) for bits falling off/breaking!
Pain isn't unusual at all as the braces are putting pressure on the teeth. I had a gap develop in my front upper and lower teeth during treatment. The ortho fixed an elastic across the back of the teeth attached to each bracket. This closed the gap, and also made the brackets much more comfortable as it helped cover the sharp edges. I had these elastics on for 90% of the treatment.
