Incognito upper brace fitted yesterday - update

#1 Post by charliebrace »

So far so good - the process took less than an hour and was painless. My first feel of the brackets was not as bad as expected, although a little rough - speech is absolutely fine as far as the utside world is concerned, but the odd word sounds rather lispy to me - no pain yet - and have eaten with no probs - tougue is also ok, but i only 20 hours into a year long jorney.

I will try to add a phot once I have found my cmaera.

Hi Charliebrace,

It seems like you're up for a great start. Good to hear it went so easy for you to get them on. Keep us posted!

Day 4

#3 Post by charliebrace »

Hi, thanks for the support, still going well, I am surprised how easy this is (so far). A few teeth are a lillte tender when touched - I guess they are the movers. Speach has been unaffected; for those worried about all the negative postings here is a positive one. My tongue is also fine and has not been sore at all.
I will ost a photo on monday, if I can work out how!

Ok - here goes, image of my new additions - from 7th jan my first day in Braces.

My teeth may not seem too bad in the photo but they are all a little skewed, so a 12 month battle with braces was started and must be finished before I'm 40!!
I would never have considered braces until I heard about Lingual braces, it seems these Incognito things are the most comfortable and most advanced. And too date they have been great - ok its only 5 days - but from what I have read things only get better.
My tongue is still fine and speech has been fine and hae not had any pain - oh and no sign of movement either
if your sitting on the fence then my first few day may offer encouragement.

6 week update

#8 Post by charliebrace »

Hi, its been a while since I gave an update. A couple of weks ago one of my molar brackets poped off, but was re fixed with no problem, but when it broke it was great fun detaching it from the wire. Next a small gap started to develop between my front teeth so at my 1st adjustment appointement yesterday She fiited a new wire and then put power chain over my 4 front teeth. The power chain makes it feel like i have a small log stuck behind my teeth and my teeth are a little tender for the 1st time. i don't know if its a stronger wire? finally to all those thinking of lingual they beat invisalign hands down, they are not uncomfortable, did not cut my tongue to bits and have not affected my speech.
