Gaps/spaces?

#1 Post by NervousNewbie »

I've been reading a lot on this site, but it seems like most people are dealing with overcrowding, misalignment, etc... not a lot of people trying to push their teeth closer together because of gaps.

Because my teeth are so small I'm not really sure how it would work, or how it would even looked with them just all pushed closer together. It kind of makes me feel like I have a situation which isn't going to be fixed by braces. I'm going in for my consultation on September 9th and hopefully I will get more answers then.

Anyone else use the linguals to close prominent gaps/spaces, or to push small teeth together?

I've definitely lost a bit (a lot) of hope... this article states that those with small teeth aren't a candidate for linguals -

Has anyone on here had an experience with having small teeth and being able to still be fitted with linguals?

I have two rather small front teeth and I have linguals. You can find pictures in my thread at 'our braces stories'. Best is to just book a consultation and the ortho will tell you whether or not you can use linguals.

It depends how small you are talking.

I have used lingual braces on 'small teeth' before but again it depends on each individuals situation.

Once you go for a consult the doc should be able to tell you.

Thank you both for your replies!

s00102, my teeth are much, much smaller than that. Not sure why... they just are for some reason.

drrick, thanks for the reply! I guess I will just have to be patient and wait for my consult. :)
