Suggestions on foods I can eat please!!

#1 Post by lu lu »

Hi guys

getting my ceramic brace fitted in under 2 weeks & not too worried about what I can eat with that. I'm guessing there won't be much of a problem (please correct me if i'm wrong lol)

But when I get my upper lingual brace fitted in just under 4 weeks i'm guessing I'm going to struggle for a while.

Any suggestions on food I could manage to eat apart from soup?

so far i've thought of spag bol, chilli con carne, fish & that's about it

I don't want to starve & I love my food & can't afford to loose any weight really lol

Thanks x

I think it varies by person - I found spag bol was the only thing I wasn't able to eat because I couldn't get my tongue in the right position to force myself to swallow the spaghetti. I didn't find I had to adjust my diet much (apart from avoiding nuts and crusty bread) as long as I chopped stuff up small and didn't bite into anything with front teeth. Some foods are obviously easier than others - mushy foods are best, so things like weetabix, mashed potato, and anything where the meat has been minced. But as I said, you can eat most stuff very soon after without too much trouble (except I took a long time to finish a meal).
