I got my top lingual brace fitted three days ago. It was largely due to people on this board answering my questions and being brave enough to share their experiences that I had the courage to go for it, so I thought it was only fair that I should share my journey too!

So, I have sent up a blog to document my photos and experiences. I have also just uploaded a voice recording of my lisp 3 days in which you might like to hear. Please don't laugh!!!

I'd love you to follow my progress on the blog and add your comments so please head over

I will also post links to new updates on this thread as I go along. Some useful ones to start you off are:

Day 13 with my top lingual brace and a teeny tiny gap has definitely appeared between my front two teeth!

Back to see my ortho tomorrow afternoon to get my bottom brace fitted. Nervous and excited. Wish me luck!

It's now 24 hours since I had my bottom lingual brace fitted - I'm now fully braced and ready to get going properly with my journey. The lower one has definitely been more painful, but it has also improved my speech, which is weird but I really hope it lasts!

I've added a photo and included a full post about my first 24 hours with my bottom brace here: http://insideimsmiling.wordpress.com/20 ... -bad-news/

Surely I must be due another ibuprofen soon... this lower brace hurts :(
