Incognito is the way to go

#1 Post by Mammabear »

Hello everybody
I am 29 year old female from los angeles. I have overcrowding in upper and lower snd deep overbite. I started my journey of braces on april 21. I chose upper and lower incognito and it cost around 8000usd. I want to write this because i want ppl to have more to read incognito braces. I tried to research for two months and seems like not enough experiences sre posted . I think i went through every archwired messages and youtube videos posted abt them. I chose it because i am very uncomfortable with idea of braces showing. So i will keep this as a journal for my experience. Lets get started!!!
Day 1 getting them on was painnnn in the rear. Brsckets kept falling off and i was so scared along with the person putting them in. It tookthree hours to have my braces! I had extremy anxiety that i made wrong decission. So finally i walked from dr's office and my speech was ok. So i didnt eat anything all day and drank milk at night. My tongue was getting irritated. I had trouble talking. I did not use wax or pain pills throughout whole process. Next day woke up and i couldnt even talk.i went to work and i was in so much pain from tongue rubbing against brackets. I kept my mouth shut. It wss unbearable pain. My tongue was just swollen, red and with sores. I meant next 5 days i had horrible tongue pain, couldnt talk. I work in healthcare and had to talk to patients and i couldnt talk. O man i would say for good 10 days i had trouble with tongue. I never once used wax. I dont like doing extra things for temporary pain relief. I say i started eating normal on day 8 but talking was the only part i was afraid of. I was worried that if tongue will ever get used to metal inside and stop getting sores. So i am prolly over two weeks and i can tell u i am so glad i got them and i love them now. I see movement already i think. Well maybe wishful thinking i dunno. I use waterpik at nite and love it. I can eat abt anything! I went twice to the orthodontist in first week for pokey wire . If u have any questions feel free to ask me. :D

How many consults did you go on until you found an orthodontist that you were comfortable with?

I am looking into getting lingual braces myself. :D

Hi, Mammabear so we have Incognito from the same month, the same year

Phaseofbeauty, as I mentioned, is very important to choose the right orthodontist.I found from the beginning the right one. She had a very good resume and has had accomplished one of the best school of lingual orthodontics, the one from Paris and was assistant in University.
I suggest to you to look carefully to the resumes. It`s worth to pay more for a good orthodontist especially when you have difficult orthodontic issues. There are some people here with complaints regarding some orthodontists.Probably, as someone said, were without or with little experience in this sub-domain of orthodontics.
Many orthodontists have just the licence course for Incognito and they didn`t graduated a school for lingual orthodontics. So look at the resume for the orthodontist to have in addition such a degree :in Paris, Arizona etc. Reason:in school they practice many months, in Incognito course they have little practice.
