Assumptions
i just recently went for my appointment and my ortho asked me if i was wearing them 24/7 and i usually do...the only exception is when i go to clubs late at night for about 4 hours, but htats like only twice a week. and now he says it seems like i dont wear them. ive acctually changed them twice a day instead of one. do you think it has to do woth the elastics not being strong enough because thats that only thing i can think of.

It seems that it would be best to be as open with your ortho as possible. You told all of us what you should have told your ortho. If he believes that you are following his instructions and you actually aren't, he may try even more drastic options to get your teeth to do what he wants, when all that would be necessary is for you to let him know where you are easing off and how you are trying to compensate by changing the elastics 2X a day instead of the 1X a day that your ortho prescribed.
Did your ortho tell you what the elastics were for? Did you ask? If you just go sit in the chair, let your ortho do his thing, tell you what to do, and then you don't ask him what the protocol is for, it is very easy to think, "Oh, it won't matter much if I don't do this, or if I do that." In short, you could be messing up your treatment or extending it longer than it needs to be, merely because you are not communicating with your ortho.
