I've had my braces for more than 2 years now and my ortho has never canceled an appointment of mine! But they are some of the most inflexible people you will ever meet! :x They are hardly in their office and are totally unwilling to try to work around your schedule! IT is so annoying! I think they have way to many patients!

HAve you asked your ortho why he keeps canceling your appointments? You should sit down with him and talk to him! After 4 times that's just not acceptable! I mean it is slowing down your treatment time!
Good luck!

In the 6 months I've been going to my ortho I've never had an appointment cancelled/rescheduled.

Actually I've never had any type of dental or medical appointment cancelled / re-scheduled.

My appointments have never been cancelled or postponed so far, though my ortho did have to leave in the middle of one of mine for an emergency. However, she looked at my teeth, adjusted something, then told the assistant what to do, so she technically didn't skip out. And, since it was an emergency, that's forgiveable in my book.

I called the office this afternoon to see if by chance I could see him in the town I'm in right now. (Visiting my brother 2 hours away from home.) I was told "No, he is out of town." Then I tried to schedule an appointment for when I return from my vacation later in August. I was then told that "he hasn't set his schedule that far ahead yet." I am wondering why he hasn't decided where he will be when that is less than a month away.

There is always someone in the local office and then the assistants that travel with him. I don't know what they do when he is "Out of Town." It has just been a frustrating situation. And I have had only one other appointment cancelation before this. It was for a dental cleaning and the hygenist was sick and she called me herself to apologize. :D

Unfortunately this Dr. is not the best guy to talk to. He doesn't really pay attention to what you say or ask. I have trying for almost a year to get him to put an archwire back on the top as I don't have one. Also last year one of his assistants knocked two bottom brackets off (on two occasions). After the teeth moved back to their original position I asked to have the brackets put back on. I then had to show him which teeth I was talking about. He then handed me a mirror and said "If you can see they have moved." (Exactly what I told him) When I was leaving he said "Be sure and stay away from whatever you ate that knocked them off." I told him how they got knocked off but I know that it was already written in my chart by the assistant who did it. Needless to say if I knew before what I know now I would have chosen a different Dr.
