Well, I guess I'll be different on this. I got my uppers and lowers on the same day - back in October, 2005. It seems like the ortho has been alternating changing the wires. Sometimes, I get only the upper wire changed, sometimes I get only the lower wire changed and less frequently, I get both changed.

P. S. I love Nova Scotia. Great scenery, great historical sites.

Thanks -- I'm originally from Newfoundland, but I have to admit Nova Scotia's not bad either :P

In my case I had both sets placed the same day. Althought the top needed less work than the bottom. So far the top teeth have hurt 100 times worse than my bottom teeth. I just had an adjustment yesterday and my top teeth have been hurting since. But everyone is different and only your ortho would know.

Well, I guess now I know -- 4 months (give or take 3 days)!

I just got my bottom teeth wired this morning. The ache is starting ... :?

Late to the party....my lowers went on 8 weeks after my uppers. It took me longer to adjust to the lowers and, yes, more food seems to get trapped in the hardware on the bottom than it does on top.

I got my uppers put on in May and have been anxiously awaiting getting my lowers. (I ran the risk on breaking off my lower brackets as well.) Good news, I'm getting my lowers put on next week. Good luck with yours.

I had my top bracs put in last month, my top arch is fine but due to the multiple crossbite on the left side of my lower arch my orth could not brace the lower yet I don't know when I will be getting my lower braces we will see as the treatment progresses.
