Now I'm beyond furious!

#1 Post by Wyo_Stacy »

I just have to vent because everyone around me is tired of listening.
I posted here back in July that my ortho cancelled my appointment again. That was the fourth time during my treatment (a total of now 30 months). I have now rescheduled that appointment time three different times (due to him being "out of town"). I was scheduled for tomorrow (the 12th) and even got a call this morning to remind me of it. This afternoon I got another call to move it again to Friday. ARUGH! I am so mad at him. If it wasn't for the fact that I am only $130 from paying him off, I would move to a different Doc. I really want to tell him to take them off but I don't have the money to pay another doc for treatment. Especially when I was done a year ago, but he wouldn't take them off until I was done paying. Then his office has messed things up and now my teeth are no longer where they are supposed to be.
Any ideas?

At the rate his office is going probably not. When (and if) I see him Friday it will have meen over three months since the last time I saw him. He orginally said six weeks between the last visit and now. Also my teeth have shifted enough that I have a new crossbite (that I never had) and another tooth that is turning sideways. I am looking at probably another six to eight months before he gets it all correct. I so wish I would have gone with a different doc.

When he sees you and asks you how you are just very calmly look at him and say "Why I am furious! and how are you?"

I actually did this once and it was pretty effective. I had an appointment for a tune up for my car and I waited almost an hour. When the guy finally got to me, he said " thanks for being so patient". I said " I am NOT being patient, I am furious!" And then of course he made all kinds of excuses for why they were late. yada, yada, yada which didn't make me feel one bit better. But at least I let them know how I felt.

Wow, that's terrible! I also recommend verbalizing your complaints. Make sure everything is satisfactory for you when they take the braces off and complete treatment. If you're unsatisfied, you should let them know right away. You are the customer and are paying good money for this treatment; you deserve respect and a satisfactory result.

Grrr i hate to hear he rescheduled you cause i know what that means. It means there is a good chance I will be getting a similar phone call next week. I have made up my mind though and I am pretty early in my treatment so if I get re-scheduled this appointment I am totally finding a new ortho. And I will be sure to tell them that the constant appointment juggling is the reason I am moving on. I have had braces for 9 months now and unless i go as scheduled next week the only appointment that wont have been rescheduled will have been my banding. IMHO it doesnt matter how many credentials you have if you cant pull your head out of your A$$ and take care of your patients. how did we end up with such a retarded ortho?

I was done a year ago, but he wouldn't take them off until I was done paying
Is this a common practice - to extend the treatment time to match the payment schedule? My payment plan extends six months past the estimated treatment time. Makes me think it might be a good idea to make a larger down payment to ensure the payment plan coincides with the treatment plan.
