a bit of home dentistry

#1 Post by caringiscreepy »

welllll, I went for an adjustment tues and got some more of those little springs to close my gaps, everything was fine until last night, the upper right spring started hurting and by about 8pm my whole gum was swollen and I was in agony (not adjustment pain, real pain I couldn't stand) so my boyfriend yanked it out. I can't describe the relief but now I feel bad, how much use are they? I don't want to go back to my ortho for another one incase the same happens again but I know the gaps won't close by magic

I would call the ortho and tell him what happened. He probably put to strong of a spring there. But you need to call him and set things straight or you will delay your treatment.

I have to agree with with everyone. I can imagine how bad the pain must have been. But the pain does go away slowly in a few days. I've been in pain after adjustments for a week. The type of pain that had me in bed in tears and taking pain meds. Please call your ortho and tell them that your gums became really swollen and you took it off. I'm sure there is another way that he can try something else.
