Ceramic braces damaging tooth enamel?

#1 Post by user »

I'll be getting partly ceramic braces soon and I suddenly remembered something one of the orthadontists I had a consultation with said to me..

He said in a small percentage of cases ceramic braces can damage tooth enamel and this is visible (and not known) until removal of the brackets at the end of treatment.

Has anyone experienced this?

thanks

I haven't heard of this. I spoke to my ortho and another ortho about getting ceramic brackets. Neither of them mentioned this.
