Gum shield and braces :S

#1 Post by Fran1988 »

Hi all,

I play field Hockey and the thing is i have to get a gum shield.... however, i have asked my Ortho and he said that the NHS no longer moulds them ne more and that i would have to go out and buy one from a shop. But i have done this and none of them are very comfortable. The don't fit , they are uncomfortable and annoying and after a prolonged use make my mouth feel very achey. Has n e one got ne suggestions???

not sure what to suggest really. Have you tried the boil and bite kind of mouthguards?
Other than that, would your ortho or dentist get you one made privately, if the NHS no longer fund them?
