ReInerting Wires following extraction

#1 Post by Buttoneyz »

Hello,
I have had my damons on for one week now. I need two teeth taken out-one top & one bottom on my left side. I have an appt in mid-Nov. with the Ortho to remove the wires before my dentist appt then to reinsert them about 3 hours after the extraction. My reasoning is that I'd still be numb and I'd just rather get it over with.
The Ortho told me that they normally wait at least one week before putting the wires back on but really couldn't tell me why. I would think the pressure would be greater if I wait.
Has anyone had the wires put back on this quickly? Any regrets? Should I wait the week? This are not wisdom teeth - those are long gone.

Thank you for any advise or reassurrance.

Linda

I had two top teeth removed and had the wired replaced the next day without any problems.
