I have a confession...

#1 Post by JenB »

I will have been in braces for 4 yrs in January. Straight forward orthodontics other than 4 extractions (2 molars on top and 2 on bottom). My bottom gaps closed several months ago; however, still have space on the top. My ortho gave me gorillas (4.8mm medium) to wear across the top from back molar to front canine on each side.

Now for my confession...

I've been doubling up for over a week now!

Yep, instead of wearing one on each side, I'm wearing two. Albeit my spaces have not completely closed, they have moved dramatically.

I'm I really as bad as I feel!!!!!! I just read some posts about root damage! is this true?

I really wouldn't do that without talking to your ortho first. Having come this far, you don't want to do anything that may either damage your teeth or.......extend your treatment time.

What Lionfish said. I wouldn't do anything that hasn't been specified by your ortho. It would be such a shame to have come so far and have problems now because of something like this.
Metal upper and lower: 6th Sep. 2005
Quad helix in: 1st Dec. 2005
Quad Helix out: 31st March 2006
Surgery (upper/lower/genio): 11th Nov. 2006
