Powerchain (PICS added)

I had my third adjustment today. My doc noticed that my teeth have not moved much and he decided to "double up" mypower chaing. What he did was cut the strip twice as long, set the first half of chain on my teeth and then went backwards with the rest of the chain. I hope I am explaining this right. Is this a common practice? My teeth are tighter now. I have only had my braces on sense 08/09/2006. I have a lot of little gaps along my teeth and he seemed a little concenred about the lack of movement.
