extraction healing times?

extraction healing times?

To anyone who's had extractions:
I've been doing really well since having my 4 premolars extracted 8 days ago (well I think I have, it's all relative I suppose and it's not like I have prior experience to compare!) - no pain at all, avoided the dry socket terror etc. I've got back to eating pretty normally within a week as well and think things are coming along nicely but was wondering how long it might take for the sites to heal over completely i.e. for the "holes" to fill up???!! :?: Like I said, they're giving me no problems to speak of and I'm not in a rush, I'm just curious as to when I can expect to stop having to fish or swoosh tiny bits of food out of them! :lol: :lol:

Hi florencegal!

That's great that your extraction sites are healing well! I had 3 biscupsids extracted in September , and I noticed it took about 2-3 weeks for the gum tissue to be really healed. And then stuff stopped getting stuck in there, which was really nice. Hope it heals up soon for you!

Thank you so much for that MrsF!! I had said I wasn't worried but the more I thought about it, the more there was part of me that dreaded someone saying "Heck they should have filled in daaaaaaays ago, you should get that checked out"!! :lol: :lol: :lol: You've got to laugh - the whole braces thing brings thoughts and anxieties you never would have imagined having in a million years!

Thanks so much for the reassurance that I'm probably right on track to see everything "filled in" soon enough - fingers crossed!

It's been 1.5 months since I got my wisdom tooth extracted, and I can still feel a slight divot in my gums back there. The gum itself healed within a week or 2, but it hasn't filled itself back in yet. Don't know if it's normal or not, but that's my experience.
