Hope I won't get into too much trouble....

I couldn't face the staining anymore, and after some deleberation cut the tubing away from my wire.

The tubing was only to stop the wire from rubbing on the inside of my lip (the ortho assistant persuded the ortho to be nice and put it on. Lovely of her, but wish she hadn't!).

Not gonna touch my braces at all now, I am so much happier and less self concious without the stained tubing. It was horrid! Just hope my ortho doesn't mind....

If it was just there for comfort, then it sounds like you shouldn't get in too much trouble. But you might want to call them on Monday just to make sure. Better to check on it early then have them yell at you for messing up a whole month or something. That's just my paranoid perspective.
