One more lig color question about yellowing.

#1 Post by Kat »

Well,
I've looked at the other lig color thread til I'm blue in the face and really can't tell.
I have white teeth pretty much and am sick of the staining clear and opaques.
I had light silver for a short while and my ortho doesn't carry these and has no idea of what I'm talking about when I say "You put the light silver color on my teeth).
Anyway, we tried lite blue and it made my teeth look a bit yellow. I tried regular silver on and it made my teeth look dark, almost to trans parent.

Do the darker colors make them whiter?
I'm thinking the warm colors with yellow in the color would bring the yellow in the teeth out, yes? The cool colors without yellow like blue or something make them whiter?
Please what's your experience with this?
I look at the colors my ortho has and it's either clear or opaque wich SUCK!

Darkblue and Black makes you teeth looks much whiter.
I got my teeth polished and gained 2-3 nuances whiter, then i got dark blue ligs and it looks like 5-6 nuances whites now, before i had quite much smokers yellow, now in the mirror it looks plain white. very impressive effect ;)

The ones I tried were the light blue ligs.
I may look at the purple but that does have yellow somewhere in the mix doesn't it?

I'm thinking the darker blues are going to be next if I choose a color. (Which I will, these clears, opaques stain to bad and I don't want to show my dingy smile) Iwant the light silver ligs I had them the one time now no one knows what I'm talking about at the orthos office :( .

I really like the bright blue ligs but for some reason think they will yellow up my teeth.

One more thing.
Don't the silve/metal brackets make teeth that are a bit transparent look dark kind of grey looking?
Reason I say this is when I had the regular silver ligs put on they made the bottom half of my teeth look like they were grey, almost like I had half teeth.

Wow yea its more than visible on that picture that green makes the teeth appear more yellow! Ok reminder for me: Never take green unless i stopped smoking and even then only mix with green too ;)

I have ligs that are tooth colored and the assistant referred to their color as "obscure." I hadn't heard of obscure ligs on the board, so i dont know if they just made the name up, or what! but anyway, they have been really resistant to staining. I even had curry twice and chili a few times, oh and lots of coffee, red wine, and spaghetti sauce! I think they have gotten a little bit off-color at this point, but they arent yellow, just not so "clean" looking as they were to begin with.

I think i might try lavendar at some point though, that sounds pretty!

Pastel pink makes my teeth look really white. I had clear ligs on my top teeth and pastel pink on the bottom, and it was amazing how much whiter my bottom teeth looked. So now I have pink on the top and bottom. It was kinda scary at first 'cause I got power chains top and bottom at my last adjustment so it was like whoa, pink....but after a few days and eating pasta with red sauce and drinking coffee, the pink has been toned down a lot and still looks really good.

I guess I'll try the blues but just don't know which ones.
The dark blue or the bright blues.
Which is better for whiter looking teeth?
