Congrats on getting braced, and welcome to the board!

As far as food goes, most people on this board eat all the same things they did pre-braces, only "modified" slightly. You might have to cut or tear things up instead of biting into them, but other than that, you can eat just about anything. You have to remember to be careful and chew on your molars, but in no time you will be able to eat pizza, tacos, apples (cut up), anything! Stuff like caramel or other sticky foods can be eaten, but be prepared to stand in front of the miror fishing the little bits out of your braces!

Good luck!

Well, you didn't have to go back too far to find a discussion on this (it was on the third page back when I looked):
viewtopic.php?t=15346

This is a very popular topic. Lynn (bbsadmin) has posted a "soft food list" and a lot of people have posted their favorites. You can also try the SEARCH tool and just look for "food".

Hey! When I had my braces (for the last 3 years- I got them off last Tuesday) I ate pretty much everything. It takes a while after you get your braces on, but you will be back to normal soon. The one thing I would not recommend, though, is eating a Now and Later. I thought I would never lose a band because I never had before, and I popped a Now and Later in my mouth, and a couple days later I was at the orthodontist getting it glued back on!

Good Luck!

Stay away from treacle toffee! Nearly ended up chewing my own teeth out of my head on bonfire night.
