My First Adjustment is Tomorrow

#1 Post by RGW »

I'm scheduled to have my first adjustment tomorrow. I have no idea what this entails. Having braces put on last month was a horrible experience. It wasn't physically painful, but I have a small mouth and can't breath through my nose due to sinuses. At one point during the procedure, I couldn't breathe at all. If I had known what that experience would be like, I woudln't have gone through with braces.

Should I expect something similar tomorrow? What does an adjustment entail?

well let's just say you won't have those awful lip spreaders to deal with so I think you will be fine. If you are okay normally with dentist checkups this will be 10 times easier than that. They will either leave your wire alone and put on new ligs or take your wire out, replace it with a new one and put on new ligs. Unless of course you have something else going on like springs or spacers, etc.

Good luck - I think you will be just fine!
