Different angle in the mirror...

#1 Post by newmetal »

Have any of you noticed that in mirrors your teeth will look like how you percieve them to look, but then looking at them in a different angle in the mirror they look really bad? Anyone else get this. I was shaving today in the mirror and opened up bathroom cabinet mirrors, i opened the two side doors so i had a mirror either side of my face and one directly in front and my teeth looked badddddddddd, bite looked off, teeth i thought were straight look wonky. Anyone else get this?

which leads to the question, in what way do people see our teeth? Do they see them how we see them just facing a normal mirror or do they see them how we see them in a complicated mirror such as a bathroom (3 mirrors, 1 front, two sides) mirror?

I posted about this awhile back. I find it pretty disturbing which is why I hate to post pictures of my teeth. They just look wrong to me. I think as your teeth get more symmetrical you will feel better about it. Mine are not totally symmetrical still after all the work that has been done. To get them totally symmetrical I would have to have veneers which I really don't want to do.

It keeps me going knowing I made the right choice in getting braces.Every time I look in the mirror I keep hoping to see the changes in movement that I can only feel with my bite.I know that not all changes are visual but I look anyway. I guess I'm trying to anticipate the next movement of my teeth. But some things I do notice are that my cheeks seem to be higher and my chin became rounder and shaving is still a pain.
