first day in braces

#1 Post by hawaiian poi dog »

hey everyone, I just got braces today. My mouth feels very wierd right now and I'm still very much getting used to that. The top is actually fairly painless but the bottom hurts like nobody's business. I'm serious. Luckily for me, I have my wisdoms and they are unbraced, and thus pain free. This helps because they are the only teeth I could possibly hope to use to bite without feeling like my jaw is going to break in two. My teeth all feel very loose, which is wierd because I havn't had a loose tooth is a good three years. (I'm fifteen) Oh well, I hope things get easier because they are anything from that right now.

Hello poi dog, the first few days are a bit weird but things will get easier for you soon. Give yourself a few weeks to get used to it all.

Have a look at the soft food suggestions on this site to make sure you're getting sufficient nourishment.

Best of luck.

It's been nothing but noodles, mashed potatoes, and soup so far. My brother came home with fried chicken, which he tried to hide from me to keep me from feeling bad, but I found it. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to not be able to eat whatever you want, but that should get better with time.
