OUCH!!

#1 Post by TheSarahMonster »

I have 7 canker sores. Grrrr.....yes I'm using wax and doing salt water rinses too. I have an overly sensitive oral mucosa possibly do to a very strange reaction I had as a kid to an antibiotic. It's called Steven's- Johnsons Syndrome (SJS). If you've ever seen the thing thing on discovery Health where the one girls skin fell off all over her body that's an extreme example of an SJS type reaction. It's usually not as bad, and mine was pretty mild compared to most (even though I had it more then once)....it effectd my eyes, some skin on my belly and chest and my mouth.....Everything else is normal but for some reason the inside of my mouth is very very sensitve now. I can't even use a normal toothpaste, and I have to avoid certain foods (especially spicy ones).

So I guess my mouth doesn't like my braces. I use wax but I didn't the first day (had to go back to work...forgot to put wax in). Now I guess I'm paying for it.....

OUCH!!!

Hopefully they heal up soon...
