As bad as mine

#1 Post by pink77blondie »

I have looked at all kinds of pictures on here and other websites and I just don't see anyone with teeth as bad as mine. I haven't gotten my braces yet (only spacers) I hope braces will work for me. It is kinda depressing I will post pictures later. :(

Please don't let that get you down! I have noticed that many people on the board have said that in the beginning their teeth were so bad that they didn't even take a before picture. There are also a large number of us who (for various reasons) don't post pictures.....(not having a digital camera or like me who don't have any idea how to get the picture from the camera to the computer  ). The important thing here is that you are starting to do something about your teeth and they will never look as bad again. Chin up!

I can teach anyone to get the pictures from the camera to the pc :)
I have seen some pretty mangled teeth turned completely around. Don't even think about that part. If your ortho was doubting he could fix your teeth i'm sure he would have told you the pro's and con's. It does take time, nothing happens overnight but keep the goal in sight, that's all you should be worrying about.

If your ortho couldn't fix your teeth, he'd have said so. For a startling example of what can be achieved using braces alone, check out DodgerUK's story on the Braces Stories forum here

Howdy! Welcome!

As the others have said, your ortho wouldn't be treating you if he didn't think you would make progress. It's not where you start your journey, it's where you end up!

You dont need to share your starting pictures if you don't want.
There is one thing is, at least in my opinion, good thing when starting with crroked teeth; everybody knows why you are doing it!

My teeth looked straight to start with, although I have rotations, tippings and ovelapping of several teeth, caused by my bad bite. It seems for people to difficult understand why I have my mouth full of stuff, which affects my speech very much :( And I am very embarrased of my looks now :(. I used to to have quite a nice smile.... now my mouth is full of metal.

I thought the same thing. My teeth seemed much worse to me than others on this site.

But you know what, we'll have more or the wow factor when they have straightened out. In a way degrees of crookedness don't matter if your teeth and gums are healthy it is much more important, after all the brace can straighten out the crookedness.

Good luck

Joney.
