I had a tooth filed down a bit yesterday because it was hitting the uppers too hard. I didn't feel a thing, there was just a bit of dust flying around. You shouldn't have anything to worry about. No pain or discomfort afterwards either.

It doesn't hurt at all, in fact you probably won't even feel anything; but sometimes the ortho has to spray a lot of water in your mouth during the process, so that might feel a little weird.
