How much does teeth filing hurt & what does it feel like

Hiya all, I'm thinking about getting braces soon and the ortho says that the sides of several lower teeth will need to be filed away to make room.

My question is this: How much does this process hurt, and what exactly does it feel like?

I had a tooth filed down a bit yesterday because it was hitting the uppers too hard. I didn't feel a thing, there was just a bit of dust flying around. You shouldn't have anything to worry about. No pain or discomfort afterwards either.

Doesn't hurt at all, you can barely feel it. Good luck!

It doesn't hurt at all, in fact you probably won't even feel anything; but sometimes the ortho has to spray a lot of water in your mouth during the process, so that might feel a little weird.
