First off, I went in for adjustment #1 today. I got a powerchain across the back molars, I have some mild discomfort, but otherwise, im ok....for now.
Now for the interesting part. So I have a missing front tooth which is the reason why i have braces. Basically the teeth need to be moved apart to make room for the coming implant.
In the meantime I have a flipper. Its a palate with a false tooth. The problem is, my ortho said something about a back molar needing rotation, so i need some kind of bonded something or other with a elatic or something. Problem is that goes on the inside of the back molar. However, my flipper stays in my mouth via the use of the groves of that back molar.
So, i had impressions taken at the dentist, and they will make me a cantilever bridge.....i have a freind who works at a dental lab, and he hasnt heard of a cantilever bridge which works like a maryland bridge except it only attaches to one tooth to hold it in place. I suppose that they can mouth the thing on, then but a bracket to give the fake tooth extra support, except i have a spring going across the gap to push teeht.
Can springs be cut in 2 parts?? one going from dummy tooth to the left, and the other from dummy to the right?
This is all very hard to explain, maybe i should post a picture and that will help shed light on my case!!!
I feel like im this weird ortho case to her, and im posing a huge challenge for dentist and ortho!!!
Ill find out soon what is going to happen......i just dont want to be toothless!! I refuse!
thanks for reading.
ciao for now,
-L
