The cursed bracket

#1 Post by luxekitty »

I've been wearing braces for over 14 months now, there were 3 teeth they hadn't placed brackets on (2 on top, 1 on the bottom) because there needed to be some movement first.

So finally in January they bracketed the 3 remaining teeth. Up until that point I had not had a broken bracket, the very day they were bracketed 1 of the brackets popped off about 2 hours later. =/

So I had to wait until my feb appointment to get the tooth re-bracketed. They put the bracket on but didn't apply any pressure this time. This tooth is the only tooth left on top that is completely out of line.

Well I went to go brush my teeth right now and I noticed the bracket, the same bracket is GONE! I swear it was on last night, but now the tooth is clean. I must've swallowed the bracket...

This is SO upsetting to me, this is the 1 tooth that is really keeping my top arch "ugly" and now i'm probably going to have to wait ANOTHER month (that's if they bracket it at my next appt. on thurs.) for them to start pulling it into line. =-(

I have no idea what would've made the bracket pop off, I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary. How is it that i've managed to keep alll my other brackets but this stupid tooth won't keep it on?!

Do you think I should ask my ortho if I can come in again like a week or so after they bracket it so they can attach the wire to it and start moving it?? (My next adjustment is Friday)

The tooth you see without the bracket is the one in question. It's also keeping some teeth on the bottom crooked because it pushes them back further then they should be. =/
