Lingual bar?

#1 Post by raninhas »

Ok, so I've been checking out my treatment papers, and I'll have, later on, a lingual bar on bottom. I'm upper braces, since 5 days ago, and I'm only getting my bottom braces in about 4 months (when, i guess, I'll have that lingual bar).
What is it and what does it do?

Hi Ran,

I have an upper linqual "bar" or "arch" depending on what your otho calls it, I believe they serve the same purpose. The bar is attached to a molar on each side and serves to work as an anchor so they won't move. My upper one had taken some getting used to, you will have to let us know what the lower one is like.
