Hey guys. I haven't posted on here in a long time but I've missed this board a lot. So, I figured I'd show you my progress and give some hope to all of you that are struggling with your braces or just nervous about getting them.
Here is my before

Here is my progress at 5 months

And here I am today at 9 months. (please excuse the hideous powerchain. i asked for one that wouldn't stain as bad as the clear and this is what i came out with. i was so disappointed.)

haha don't mind my face in that one. i get bored!

Wow, I can't believe it's been 9 months already. That is incredible!!! Time really has flown by but I have loved every minute of having my braces.
Now I know what it's like to smile all the time and not be self conscious about my teeth. This was the best thing I've ever done.
I think they'll be coming off soon. My ortho always talks about how good my teeth look and how fast things are progressing. I'm going to miss my bracebabies!!

thanks for all the compliments guys!
and 'grinning', i'm not sure if i'm at the end of my treatment. my estimated time was 16 months and it's only been 9. but it sounds as if ill get them off early. i wanted to talk to my orthodontist about it but he was in the bahamas when i went for my last adjustment.

And I absolutely LOVE the look of your ICE braces and how small the brackets are especially the clear ones -- I wish I had known about them or had been given the option to choose THOSE! (even though I know not all orthos work with all kinds of brackets!)

Are the ICE brackets more expensive than the traditional ones? If you don't mind sharing, what was the cost of them for you?

Congratulations on your progress!!!
wow, sorry it's taken me like 4 months to get back to you. hah. thank you for the sweet comments.

i have Insignia braces and I know not a lot of orthodontist use them. I guess they are fairly new and more advanced. I think ortho's have to take a special course and be certified to use them.
They cost the same as traditional braces. I think mine were around $4800 but my insurance paid almost half of that. They are supposed to speed up the process though and when I got my braces on, I got to see what my teeth would look like when I got them off. It was really neat. Here's a link that tells more about Insignia.
