I'm getting my braces the 13th of April. I am a 26 year old wife and mommy. I found this site very helpful :D.
Only thing I wanna know is will I probably stunned and horrified getting used to my braces at first (I've read other posts about it) although I'm ecstatic about getting them I cannot WAIT :D
thanks and i look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome lz. We've got at least one other person, maybe 2, that are getting braced on 13 April too. You'll have some brace twins to commisserate with. When you first get your braces on, you might be a bit shocked. I was super excited to get my braces and was still very suprised at how I looked in them. Though I adjusted quickly. I won't say you'll be horrified. There is an adjustment period...as with anything new, like newborns! :lol As long as you prepare yourself for it, think positive, and understand that it will pass fairly quickly, you'll be just fine.

Short list of things to do/remember: wax, warm salt water rinses, patience, and a stock of soft food. But try to get back to your regular diet, minus the typical ortho restrictions/precautions, each day. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted!

Thank you becks I will remember to do all that :)
It will be nice to have others right where I am :)
I have to get them because I have a lower tooth in the front that was removed and its the best way to fill the gap plus all the other benefits that come with the treatment too.
I am getting damons anyone have them? Do you get colored ligs with them? I think my ortho said I do.
