I'm Rita, 23 years old, and I'm from Cascais (near Lisbon), Portugal.
I've been top braced since 21st february, and still don't know when will be bottom braced (perhaps in june).
I have regular metal braces :) and I love it!

35, female, Buffalo, NY. Got my braces on Feb 1, 2007 and am expecting to have them on 24 - 27 months.

2nd time in braces, I had them from 5th - 7th grade with NO RETAINER upon completion. Didn't even get one! How crazy is that?

26, Female, Oklahoma

This is my second time in braces. I had a quad-helix type expander when I was 8, and I wore braces for a little under 2 years in middle school, wore my retainers diligently for ten years, and then lost the retainers when I moved. I didn't get them replaced, and within 2 years, my jaw began to retract and collapse. So I am in clarity ceramic on top, unit (?) on bottom, and am getting a removable quad-helix expander in a few visits.

Bottom line... always keep your retainers!!
