I am a little confused... At my last adjustment on May 2, my ortho put a powerchain across my top four teeth, and all the way across my bottom teeth, and said "We're gonna start closing some gaps today!" I didn't think anything of it at the time, but the only gap I have in my bottom teeth is b/t my Rt. Lat Incisior and the Canine, and the only reason there is a gap is b/c the incisor is rotated a little - otherwise, they were more crowded than anything. My bottom teeth had started straightening out nicely, but now they are all crowded again, and my Lt. Lat Incisor is starting to rotate out like the Rt one! (In a way I am glad for that though, b/c that's how I spotted that sneaky little cavity!)
Is there any reason he could be PURPOSELY re-crowding my teeth?!? I am just really confused, and a little dissappointed... I was starting to see some nice improvement, and now they are worse than before
On the upper hand, the gap b/t my Top central incisors has started to close quite nicely (almost completely)!
Anyone that has had similar treatment, advice/suggestions, or just a few cents to add, feel free to respond

Powerchains on crowded teeth?!
Moderator: bbsadmin
The EXACT same thing happened to me. My four top teeth were pretty crowded, and after they put a powerchain across the top four, they are worse.
I had extractions, and they put the powerchain on after using elastics to close the gaps. I think the powerchain is used to hold the four front teeth together, so that they all move together to close the gap. Otherwise, just one tooth (the ones with the hooks) will separate and move, leaving the other front teeth behind, creating a gap.
