I know this is kind of an old thread, but I just wanted to say I'm glad I'm not the only one! I used to just drool in my sleep, but now if I'm not careful and I'm looking down or bending over, there's a lovely string hanging from my mouth. I think it's pretty funny, but luckily it's only happened at home so far....

Funny topic and very pertinent for me as well. I NEVER used to drool and, yes, I now join the ranks of other braced droolers. Actually, it seems to be improving from the first few weeks, but I still do. Between that and my Nick & Nora striped sliced fruit pajamas, I may have discovered a new method of birth control.

It's not the drooling that bothers me so much as the odd occasion when instead of saying it, I've realised I was just spraying it!
LOL ME TOO!!!! But sometimes i do wake up with drool dripping or when i'm eating stuff just tends to fall out.

I thought I was alone. I have only had my braces on for about a month and I to, am a drooler. It is disgusting I have only been married since March so my husband is like, "Um you did a good job waiting until we got married to reveal this to me." :D He laughs because I try to control it or act like I didn't do it, but he catches me everytime.

I've never been a drooler but oh boy, almost immediately after getting braces on, I've become a serial drooler!! I almost drool every time I sleep, day or night. It's especially bad when I'm half awake and half asleep. That's hilarious michelle!! Your hubby seems like a sweet guy with a great sense of humor.

Another drooler here. Before braces I used to drool in my sleep when I was dead tired. Now if I sleep on my side with my head flat I drool, drool, drool!! So now I try to make sure my pillow is propped up a little which helps. I'm also wearing elastics now which helps in keeping my mouth mostly closed. I wont even get started with the whole say it instead of spray it subject.
Got my braces off 9/20/07 after 19 months and 3 weeks. WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!

Fortunately I only seem to drool excessively when I sleep or when I’m brushing my teeth and so far no one has needed a raincoat when I talk to them.

Glad it isn't just me!!

My debanding present to myself was going to be a new pillow to replace the poor, much abused, victim of my insessant drool but I'm starting to wonder if it's only going to get worse with retention? I found out yesterday the plan would be upper and lower hawleys 24/7 for 6 months then at night for, well, ever...

Question for all of you who've moved to retainers...does the drool remain your constant companion?

Well, I'm not a drooler, and I wake up with my mouth super dry, with the brackets glued to my lips!
But I do produce a lot more saliva than before, that's for sure!
