Hi, I'm new to these forums, so I apologize in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong place.
Anyway, I have two questions. First of all, I think I have just one or two months of braces left. The shape of my two front teeth is very round rather than straight across, like most teeth. I was wondering if the teeth will be sanded down when I'm finished to have them straight instead of round.
The second question is, would it be appropriate to tell my orthodontist exactly how I want the teeth sanded? I understand it's not like getting a haircut, and my reason for wanting them shaped a certain way is purely cosmetic, but I've noticed that other people who have gone to the same orthodontist have gotten kind of rounded front teeth that are slightly lower than the rest. Other people I see have perfectly straight-cut teeth that are pretty much the same length as their other teeth on either side of the front ones (or very close). Also I'm pretty certain these people haven't had any additional work done, such as veneers.
Here's an example of what I mean:
Notice the top two images are cut straight across, as I mentioned (the front teeth specifically). In the bottom image, which shows teeth after orthodontic treatment, the front teeth are still pretty rounded. Yes, it's kind of a crazy attention to detail, but I'm envious of the teeth at the top. I apologize for the image size, which makes it kind of difficult to see what I'm referring to. On the lower image, on the top row of teeth, note the left and right edges of the bottom of the front teeth. This is what I mean about being rounded.
So, does anyone know if something this specific (and maybe strange) is appropriate to bring up with my orthodontist, or would I take a matter like that elsewhere? Thanks very much in advance!
