I liked the pinks better than the turquoise. The turquoise made my teeth look a smidge yellow, had me brushing like a maniac thinking my teeth were staining from not brushing well enough.

i just got mine... ooo.... 3 hours ago. i should have asked for the box to see the colors, but i was hoping for light blue b/c of this thread! but the ortho didn't name it off so i went with bright blue. ha, i'm not sure if that was wise or not cause you can definitely see it. but, it's kind of fun. i wish i could change out colors more often. whoever said pink for breast awareness month... that's an awesome suggestion!
Haha, I wish I could change my colors more often, too! At each adjustment I carefully weigh my options, knowing that I'm stuck with it for 8 more weeks, lol. The girls at the ortho are excellent resources for advice, they have their favorites, and they've seen them all!
All Metal Uppers and Lowers - brackets placed with OrthoCAD
Braces on 2/1/2007, Removed 2/13/2008, now in Essix retainers.
sandrajones, I got color for the first time last week at my adjustment.
I got blue and orange (me and hubby are big time chicago bears fans...well hubby is a die hard fan).
The blue and orange looks fine. I went in for my adjustment with my bears jersey and bears mini back pack. The assistant must've read my mind, because before I could get the words blue and orange outta my mouth, she suggested it....lol. The ortho loved it, he's a bears fan too, lol.
I'm a SOX fan, there's no way I'd get red and blue lig's....even though hubby is a die hard cubs fan! LOL!!!
I do miss my tooth colored lig's, I just hate that they stain slightly. At my next adjustment, I think i'll go for a smoke gray colored ligature....but this time, I just had to rep. for the chicago bears!!! LOL!!!

ROFL Dimples ! I decided to be a Sox fan when I moved to Chicago, but when I met my now-husband I switched. Maybe I shouldn't have ! Of course, if I were still a Sox fan I'm sure he'd be making the most of the current situation and I'd be getting daily ribbings. Ever done black and white ligs ????

You know what, I was really leaning towards black and white lig's at first, but I was afraid that the white lig's would stain!!! LOL!!!!
So since Bear season is here, and the SOX season is ending soon , I had to ride with the BEARS BABY!!!! LOL!!!
I also thought about getting red and black at my next adjustment....you know the BULLS season starts in OCT.
The funny thing is, come football and basketball season, we have a peaceful household...but come baseball season, it's war of the roses!!! ROFL!!!

I've had my light blue ligs for 3 weeks now and just as Karen suggested they have faded to a blue-green color, more on top than bottom. Could be coffee or other foods (I'm not very adventurous food-wise) or it could be my Crest White toothpaste which I use each night. In any case, it's not an offensive color and I'll probably get light blue again, but I felt it was necessary, in the interest of full disclosure, to post my color change.

My first ligs were light blue. It was easy on the eyes and blended in well - hardly noticable at times.
Since then I've tried lavender, screaming pink and gold. Currently, I have in the gold and I HATE it . It does nothing for me, it just looks like plain boring braces on me (while on others I know gold can be very attractive...). I can't wait for my next adjustment.
Anyhoo, as the first lig color, I would recommend light blue to anyone!

My Ortho has a sort of periwinkle blue -- a light blue but in the lilac family. It doesn't stain and it has been my favorite so far.
Since I will still have my braces at my daughter's wedding, I think I will go with the periwinkle on top (her color is grape) and pink on the bottom (for breast cancer awareness).
I may go with a fuschia shade of pink instead of light pink (which to me looks like I have bubblegum in my teeth). The bottoms don't really show anyway.
Right now I have two shades of very light translucent violet and rose. Both are subtle and pretty. So, I may just stick with them.
I was hoping to be done by now, but I'm guess I have about 3 more months to go. I have a closing wire on top and I've been wearing elastics for about 5 weeks.
My midline is now almost lined up, my bite is almost where it should be, but my stubborn rotated lower laterals still won't align. One I think just needs more torque, possibly a repo of the bracket. The other worries me because I don't see enough space for it to straighten.
I think a spring and a powerchain may be in my future (again). I wonder how this will affect my newly corrected midline and bite?
One step forward, one step back?

Spacers, Nov. 1; Braced Nov. 8, 2006; Braces off March 26, 2008, just short of 17 months. Glad it's over but the jury is still out on whether the game was worth the candle.
I havn't noticed any staining or change in colour in my ligs but maybe its because I don't eat aventuressly enough I have had practically all the colours but black and white. I avoided them because i thought white would make my teeth look yellow and black would make it look like ive got food in my teeth all the time! but people on here are mentioning how good black looks, am i wrong then? I love the idea of baby pink for breast cancer awareness, might get them next time as I havn't had them in a while. Ive got lilac on at the top at the moment! But nothing on bottom beacuse of my spacers
