Do you get to keep your teeth

#1 Post by BeeHappy »

I have an extraction next Thursday to start my treatment. Yikes!! :yikes:

Question :Questions: in uk do they let you keep the teeth?? :) not being gruesome, but after 44 years feel a bit attached to them!

Also planning to get scale and polish while the anaesthetic injection is working. Is this a good idea??

I'm sure they will let you have your teeth. After all they'd only throw em in the bin otherwise! Take a little jar with you and hand it to the dentist beforehand, just so he doesn't forget.

I kept mine but I was too sad to look at them at first, however I found them the other day and had a good look, still a bit sad to have lost them, they were perfect teeth. However my teeth are looking so much better now and I know it was the right thing to do.

I had eight teeth removed and I told my dentist I want to keep them (I think I did it after the first yanking, later he always remembered that I wanna take them with me).

Actually, I don't feel attached to them but I think I will have some sort of necklace made of them...just to remind me.
It's quite an ordeal I'm going through now, I just don't wanna forget it. Never.

I had 6 extraction in one day and I forgot to ask to keep them. Also once I was awake ,I was too groggy and just wanted to get out of there.
This time I had 3 extractions,1 incisor and 2 wisdom bottom teeth. I asked before the extraction that I wanted to keep them. I got to take them home in a little ziploc baggy. After 2 days I looked at them. I actually cleaned them too lol.
I dont see why they wouldnt let you keep the teeth. Just ask before you start getting anesthesia.
Good luck on your appt.

I kept mine!

In fact, I still have my baby teeth from more than 10 years ago. I'm starting to think that it's kinda gross tho (since they fell out naturally, they're kind of "broken").

I kept my extracted pre-molars and my 1 wisdom tooth. All came out very nicely, root intact. They cleaned my teeth in the sonic cleaner before giving it to my in a plastic baggy saled in a autoclave bag. I always remember to ask them because I always do local instead of General Anes. or Sedation.
