I really don't think that my TEETH are yellow... it's the stuff that the ortho put on my teeth that is staining yellow. Once the braces come off, that stuff will be scrubbed off, and I'll be good to go.
I got damon clears, and if I could choose again, probably wouldn't go with the clear type. I think that against my teeth they make them appear more yellow because they are so clear. It's all about the illusion/shadowing.
I have decided not to listen to my mother, and realize it's not THAT bad! (However, when I drink coffee the stains are worse, I brush my teeth, and I'm able to scrub some of it off... so I just brush more often!)
My teeth are yellow.

Soda paste.
I took advice from my mom and made a soda paste yesterday. I used it around each bracket with the little brush and then used my Sonicare. I think it helped a bit. Yes, I'm sure it's not your teeth that are yellowing, it is the glue! I'm thinking it will wear off with daily cleaning and visits to the dentist every six months.

First of all, I hope my earlier response to this thread didn't sound too harsh! In re-reading it, it makes me sound rather demanding( which I never am!) I LOVE the folks at my ortho's office and I am always polite and cheerful with them--we always laugh over something!.
Katk~ That was my experience, too! I know it was the adhesive which turned yellow, not my teeth because they looked normal again immediately after having the excess glue ground off. The assistant commented on how much better they looked and to please 'be sure to keep track of any other areas we might have missed and she would get them at my next appointment'---no problem!
Please don't be shy about asking! They don't know your teeth as intimately as you do so they would never notice if they are more yellow unless you point it out and ask.
Question for everyone: When initially attaching your brackets, did your ortho use a technique in which you bit into a soft putty mold of your teeth with the brackets already in place and then peel off the excess mold? I don't remember the technical term for it, but that is how mine were attached instead of individually. It worked pretty slick, but I think the downside to applying the brackets using this method is that it compromised the albility to be precise with the adhesive. jennielee81-It makes me wonder if this could be part of the "something else going on" to which you referred?
Debbra~ & breda206 I was very frustrated, too! It caused me a great deal of angst until I figured out what it was. It would have really helped if the ortho's office mentioned it as a possiblity in the first place. I don't think you can scrape it off yourself-at least I couldn't.
SandraJones~ I have a love/hate relationship with my super duper 10x magniying mirror! It is the kind which sits on my vanity and also lights up--(how sick is that)? While I find it invaluable on one hand, I'm convinced some days that it is an instrumeny of the Devil, Satan's Toy as it were, cruel and clearly frought with deceit. Unless---do you think-----is it possible that I just got a bad one?
