Been waiting on a heavier wire, why?

#1 Post by Kat »

For the past 6 months my ortho keeps saying "next appointment you'll be getting a heavier wire" well, next appointment will be the 7th month. Why the wait (I'm assuming because my teeth aren't doing what they are suposed to be doing for the new wire)
What is the heavier wire going to do for my teeth?

I know I had to work up to a heavier wire as well...which can take time. For me, getting the stronger wire meant they could start with elastics to fix my bite. I know you need a stronger wire when they start adjusting with rubberbands...I'm sure the stronger wire is needed for other adjustments as well.

:D
