Hello everyone i got my brace fitted on Oct 23rd and i just wanted to say that it didnt hurt at all. I just wanted to offer up a feel good story for a change and let those of you thinking about getting braces know that it may not be as bad as you think. I seriously was a nervous wreck even when i look back over previous message I posted on this site! I was dreading going out in public, coming to work and meeting my friends last weekend! Im happy to say that my family thought it was "kinda Cool" and my friends said they would love to be able to afford ortho treatment as they are conscious of their smile. I felt that my mouth was huge and i would scare all the kiddies in the neighbourhood but it aint that bad. I took 2 pain killers on the evening I got fitted and that was just because i was afraid of feeling any pain-there actually wasnt any! (SAD I KNOW).so anyway things could change after the next visit when things are pulled and tightened and all that but its nothing i cant handle. Just wanted to let those of you who are comtemplating getting ortho work-go for it. start as soon as possible. I left it go too late due to a ridiculous fear and i wish i had done it years ago.
