I didn't find it to stain, but I have clear and I noticed some cocoa speckles would get stuck around the ligs.

I had clear ligs with my sapphire braces. I didn't have any staining just speckles of cocoa stuck around the ligs. It took me longer to clean the cocoa speckles than corn on the cob and lettuce bits off the braces.

I've had hot cocoa a few times since getting my ceramics with clear ligatures on. I always rinse my mouth out with plenty of water afterwards, and then brush my teeth within 30 minutes. It hasn't seemed to affect the ligatures!

I know what you mean about being paranoid about staining! I've gotten to where I avoid a lot of drinks and food that I used to love, at least until the couple of days before an adjustment :D I've found that the worst for staining are dark sodas, e.g. Coke and Dr. Pepper, and beer... which I know I shouldn't be drinking anyways!

Hot chocolate is my drug of choice. I have at least one extra hot mug a day and I have not found it stains my clear powerchain.
